Pride and Weakness

No one enjoys feeling weak, whether it is emotionally, spiritually or physically. There is something within the human spirit that wants to resist the thought of weakness. Many times this is nothing more than our human pride at work. Just as weakness carries a great potential for strength, pride carries an equally great potential for defeat.

  1. All I can say is that there is something special at times when I feel the weakest in a way that when I come to the end of everything I have I come to realize that I can’t make it on my own and I begin to fully trust in the Lord. It’s a total surrender for me and this has happened a lot of times in my spiritual journey. That’s the time when I seek God with all my heart and develop intimacy with Him. I spend longer time in prayer and my faith increases. There is inner peace and unexplainable joy that comes with weakness if we have God’s presence with us. There are times when we think that we are strong enough that makes us forget God or take Him for granted. He uses our weaknesses to remind us that real strength doesn’t mean we are financially stable, healthy or problem free but true strength comes with a deep relationship with God. Paul is right when he said in 2 Corinthians 12:10 “…I delight in weaknesses,in insults in hardships,in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
